Co Design

Co-design is a process that allows customers and employees to work together to design and solve problems. Instead of simply designing for diverse users, we design with diverse users. It creates inclusive design process and broadens the scope of innovation. Co-design results in a product that customize and adapt to any user on any device

Why Co-Design?

Diverse Perspectives

Including diverse users in the design process allows design teams to access diverse perspectives that challenge conventions and spark innovation. Recognizing diversity among users is a great step towards building accessible products that work better for everyone.

Integrated Solutions

Co-design enables development teams to identify pain points before they occur. When diverse participation occurs throughout the design process, it results in integrated solutions. Co-design facilitates the integration of diverse users into the design process.

Co-Design Process

Invite Marginalized Users

Unfortunately, customers are not able to impact the design the same way as employees. Including users, especially underserved and marginalized users in the design process allow for diverse perspectives and abilities to take into consideration. Recognizing diversity amongst users is a great step towards building accessible products.

Provide Accessible Tools

During co-design sessions, we will provide accessible and assistive tools. These tools make it easier for everyone to contribute, design and problem solve. In turn allowing to build a more inclusive process for design and development.

Facilitate Ideation

Design and development teams don’t often interact with customers. Abil helps facilitate sessions with employees and customers to create an inclusive collaborative environment. With the right tools and environment, it’s easier to problem solve together. Teams will have access to Abil’s inclusive think lab filled with assistive tech and accessible tools.

We Have An Idea

We want to build Canada’s most diverse design and development consultancy. Our goal is to have a team that embodies the full range of human diversity with respect to ability, language, culture, gender and age.
